stupid gravity

Tue Feb 3, 2009, 4:58 PM
i'm going to rate getting a spinal CT scan as #2 on my all-time list of most physically painful things i've ever experienced. certainly hundreds of times more painful than the initial fall that was WHY they were scanning me. painless my fucking butt. ...which it probably won't be doing for quite awhile.

oh well, they've put me on codiene, and i've put me on timtams. expect either loopiness or catatonia for the next few days.

EDIT: Public Transit Ticket Inspectors do not, as a general rule, react well to being projectile vomited on by someone they manhandle. They react even worse when the vomitor had a valid ticket. That is all.

Jobu-GET!

Thu Oct 30, 2008, 3:18 PM
after...sodwick, ten months of searching, i have finally acquired gainful employment. only part-time, i wanted full, but i'll take what i can get. and it's workign in a store to sell pre-fab computers and videogames to the at least medium-grade tech-shocked, so certainly compared to BigW, it's gonna be easy work. definitely no blearly 10PMs spent dealing with someone who's absultely SURE they know where Safeway Liquor is and that they're in it and that i'm part of some great conspiracy to hide the booze behind all these stationery goods. especialyl since they close at 5. even if i'm doing post-close cleanup i ought to be outta there by six. no more midnights in unlit alleyways full of drifting cigarette ash being dumped off wanker apartment patios!

so yeah, i'm in somewhat of high spirits ^.^

and for my own reference, project list of things i can remember i'm working on in no particular order:
Wonderland Thing: drafting, into chapter 3
Space Sci-fi thing: writing
Eevee Scratch 4: isolated notes
Dove Under Glass: significant notes
Lilith Soap based-thing: er... was a draft, has gone back to notes due to continuity errors.
Prisoner Transport 3: moderate notes
Gummyfic... 12? i think it's 12: drafting
Internal Debate as to which older works should and shouldn't be resurrected and/or transplanted from their initial dedicated homes: progressing.

why do they demand titles?

Thu Sep 18, 2008, 11:12 PM
i mean, really. how often can anyone say "just another general update on me" before they feel like a tit for it?

anyway, new stuff. ended up finishing 3rd isntallment of Eevee-Scratch ( [link] ) before the Alice in Wonderland thing. also, apologies if i'm kinda disappeared for the next couple of weeks, my Owner's on leave, which leaves us two weeks of having the house entirely to ourselves, except for the convention in the middle, so online time is likely to be minimal, as what we're not spending joined at the hip (or other places) we're liable to be spending up to the orifice of someone else's choice in assorted geekery.

also, apologies if chapters 1 and 2 of eevee-scratch watchlist spam themselves out again. edited the descrip to include links to the other chapters, not just preceding ones, and it didn't offer me the "this is a minor edit" box, so hopefully it's defaulted to that behaviour on the grounds of descrip not being important enough for a notify anyway.

see you when i see you everybody! *big hugs8

general update, and a query

Wed Sep 3, 2008, 4:32 PM
didn't get the job. so is still lookin. you know, i never thought that given that the average cycle time these days for people who actually want career progression is only 7 years, that saying my current 'career objective' is to get a job i can stay in for 5-6 years to support myself while waiting on citizenship and working towards a teaching certification wouldn't be "long term" enough for working a goddamned call centre or flipping sodding burgers. bah, at least they try to soften it by having their form letter claim "it was a hard decision"

anywho, that's just updating, i don't wanna focus on it too much and get all depressed, i'm prone enough to that as it is. the query's much more interesting.

while my Owner and i were playing WoW, our guildchat somehow ended up on the subject of sweets, specifically playing temptress and trying to convince one of the other guildies that if they're having cravings, they should just go indulge them briefly in a controlled fashion then come back happier and finish the dungeon. She was adamant about sticking with her vodka. so my brain came up with a vodka-based desert on the fly to throw at her.

trouble is, being allergic to alcohol myself, i obviously cannot try it and find out whether this is a case of my muse coming up with tasty food, or gastrointestinal warfare. So, i give the 'recipe' here, in the hopes that someone will give it a try and let me know how it goes, because i wanna settle the issue.

anywho:
take your preferred sort of vodka, and one icecube tray (or more, if you want to make THAT many). Do whatever one does with it for the purpose of making those vodka jello things (i certainly don't know), and half-fill as many of the cubes in the icecube tray as you want to make. let 'em mostly set.

put a small piece of chocolate in the middle of each cube. the chocolate pieces should be small enough to not be touching any of the sides. i think dark chocolate would work best, but then, that's largely because i prefer dark chocolate period. i don't see why any other sort of chocolate -wouldn't- work, at least. anyhow, after putting the chocolate in the middle, fill the cubes the rest of the way with the vodka-gelatin stuff. now let it completely set.

take the cubes out of the tray, and dust them with powdered sugar, or even icing sugar if you feel like cleaning up that much mess.

i'm not sure wether or not the notion of cutting strawberries in half and pressing the cubes between them (one strawberry per cube) is a good idea or just culinary wankery. but anyhow, that's the desert. I call it "Murmur's Lament" because describing the recipe in guildchat got sugar-fixes fetched and the Shadow Labarynth run started :P if anyone makes it, please let me know how it turns out.

Edit: back from job interview

Wed Aug 27, 2008, 11:13 PM
EDIT: back from interview and subsequent panic attack (yes, subsequent. ya for mind over mind, held it off until on the way home not just from the interview, but the tram stop), many thanks for the well wishes everybody *big hugs* i'm sure they helped! ^.^

interview was all smiles all around, so i think i impressed them... in roughly 11 days i should know whether i'm going to be employed now or not ^.^

-------------------
old entry:
leaving.. actually seconds after i click the button to send this. wish me luck! ^.^

...or, y'know, don't, as your tastes and urges dictate and whatnot. though i'd really have to wonder about someone who'd read someone else's journal and then wish them bad luck on a job interview, that's just sorta creepy.

as far as current project, distracted again, as i'm sure anyone would suspect. still, is writing. been wanting to do an Alice in Wonderland piece forever, and after finally playing through American McGee's an idea gelled (mostly unrelated to the game, so don't worry about that, far closer to the old Alice in Sexland manga ~_^), and so that ought to be ready by my fluctuating definition of 'soonish'.
